ABOUT MYSELF
Throughout my
journey in the SEA-Teacher program, I have come to deeply understand the
importance of self-expression, embracing my unique identity, and the role of
education in empowering others to do the same. One quote that has had a
profound impact on me is by RM of BTS, which is:
"What
is your name? What excites you and makes your heart beat? Tell me your story. I
want to hear your
voice, and I want to hear your conviction. No matter who you are, where're you from, your
skin color, your gender identity, just speak yourself. Find your name and find your voice by speaking yourself."
This quote has
encouraged me to reflect on my own journey, not only as an individual but also
as a teacher. In the classroom, I have learned that teaching is not just about
transferring knowledge, but about helping students find their own voices, their
own identity, and empowering them to express their truths.
Throughout my time in the SEA-Teacher program, I have
gained a deeper understanding that effective teaching goes beyond merely
imparting knowledge. It involves encouraging students to think critically,
solve problems, and become lifelong learners. Acknowledging both my strengths
and areas for growth has allowed me to evolve into a more genuine educator. By
confidently embracing my unique perspective and experiences, I have developed
the courage to refine my teaching style and establish a classroom environment
where students feel empowered to express themselves.
Teaching in a different cultural context has further
enriched my understanding of how education can bridge cultural differences and
support students in exploring their identities while promoting mutual respect.
This experience has strengthened my belief in the transformative power of
education—not only through the acquisition of knowledge but also by fostering self-awareness and
building confidence. I am excited to continue this journey, applying innovative
teaching strategies to help students reach their full potential and inspire
them to discover and express their own truths.
I look forward to further developing my skills as a
teacher and using my voice to inspire others to embrace their unique perspectives.
