C. LEARNING SYSTEM

TEACHING SYSTEM OR CURRICULUM

1. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EDUCATIONAL UNIT

SD Supriyadi 02 is a school under the auspices of the Al-Falah Islamic Education Foundation in Semarang. It is a religious-based school where educators, staff, and students are predominantly Muslim. The character of SD Supriyadi 02 as an Islamic-based school will be implemented in every school program. The Merdeka Curriculum aims to realize the vision of Indonesian education in achieving a sovereign, independent, and character-driven Indonesia through the creation of the Pancasila Student Profile. SD Supriyadi 02 is one of the schools implementing the Independent Merdeka Curriculum (IKM) pathway. Schools following this path apply the Merdeka Curriculum using available teaching resources, aligning with SD Supriyadi 02's vision to create intelligent, knowledgeable, and morally upright generations. As an Islamic school, the focus is on holistic student learning outcomes, including competencies (literacy and numeracy) and character, starting with superior human resources (school leaders and teachers). The motto CENDEKIA (intelligent with Islamic character) embodies the spirit of SD Supriyadi 02 in fulfilling its vision and mission.

The philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara emphasizes character development (creativity, craftsmanship, willpower, and sports) as an integrated whole:

1) Ing ngarso sung tuladho (parents or teachers as role models).

2) Ing madya mangun karso (those in the middle providing motivation or ideas).

3) Tut wuri handayani (those behind providing encouragement).

Liberating education centers on students, granting them the freedom to grow both physically and mentally. Students receive joyful education, free from restrictive rules that could hinder their development.

The operational curriculum at SD Supriyadi 02 is tailored to its characteristics as an Islamic school, aligning with the educational context and student characteristics. In its development, the operational curriculum will refer to the Learning Outcomes set by the central government, translated into concrete learning objectives during the learning process. The development of the Operational Curriculum focuses on fulfilling student needs while enhancing competencies for life in the 21st century, prioritizing Islamic character education. The strategic location of SD Supriyadi 02 on a busy road with access to public transportation and nearby places of worship and healthcare supports character education through the Pancasila Student Profile.

Students predominantly come from middle to upper economic backgrounds with adequate facilities supporting both curricular and extracurricular learning. All students are 100% Muslim. Socially and culturally, they have diverse parental backgrounds, including private employees, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and military personnel. This diversity strengthens the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile at SD Supriyadi 02, with the motto "SANG CENDEKIA" (Students who are intelligent with Islamic character). In developing the Operational Curriculum, the varied backgrounds of students are a primary consideration to ensure equitable education in diversity and adaptability to changes.

The ultimate goal of Learning Outcomes integrated with the Pancasila Student Profile is to shape students' character, fostering faith, devotion to God, noble morals, global diversity, independence, critical thinking, cooperation, and creativity, accommodating this diversity.

The operational curriculum outlines all learning processes conducted at the educational unit, serving as a guideline for the entire educational implementation. To be meaningful, the operational curriculum is developed according to the context and needs of the students and the educational unit. The curriculum comprises a set of plans and arrangements regarding objectives, content, materials, and methods used as guidelines for educational activities to achieve specific educational goals (National Education System Law/2003). The central government establishes the curriculum framework and structure as a reference for developing the operational curriculum of educational units. The components of this operational curriculum are structured to support thinking processes and develop educational units.

2. OBJECTIVES OF DEVELOPING OPERATIONAL CURRICULUM FOR EDUCATIONAL UNITS

Based on the mandates of the regulations mentioned above, SD Supriyadi 02 has developed the school curriculum for the 2023/2024 academic year. This operational curriculum serves as a set of plans and arrangements regarding objectives, content, materials, and methods used as guidelines for conducting educational activities to achieve educational goals at SD Supriyadi 02. The operational curriculum for the 2023/2024 academic year is developed to strengthen character by internalizing core values, shaping students' character to foster faith, devotion to God, noble morals, global diversity, independence, critical thinking, cooperation, and creativity while accommodating this diversity.

SD Supriyadi 02 serves students with diverse characteristics, including interests, cognitive development, learning styles, emotional, social, moral, spiritual, and motor skills development. This diversity can serve as a foundation for designing various school programs and selecting appropriate approaches and methods of learning. Effective interaction between teachers and students allows these varied characteristics to support the achievement of educational goals. Educators and educational staff are inseparable, as their presence ensures the smooth running of all educational activities. They play a strategic role in character formation and developing the desired personality traits and values.
